Insert awesome title here

I hate thinking of titles, I think that is the WORST part of blogging. I can never think of a title for my posts, it's like I need a witty little assistant to sit with me when I blog to make this thing interesting! LOL

Anyways, let me get to the point of this blog post. A woman by the name of Allison emailed me not too long ago with an inquiry about my Tutus. I can't wait to make her one for her daughter and send it to her. She has also been nice enough to stick my blog button for Bethie boo's Tutus on her blog for all of her readers to see and go to! Now what can I do to pay her back? Advertise for her as well!! She needs followers bad!! Her and her co-blogger have just launched their website/blog and it's perfect for all moms or anyone just looking to snag a deal!! Who doesn't like love deals?! I know I do. What makes this even better? They have posted a review and a GIVEAWAY already!! Free stuff is the best! I hope you decide to check out their blog and become a follower. You can also find them on Facebook and follow deals there!

Here is the link to the giveaway. I participated, will you? I'd love to try the products she reviewed!

helping people in need.

I came across a blog post today by an etsy seller that has had something happen and is needing to sell all of her stuff. I can't imagine how she's feeling. I know I love making tutus and hair accessories and don't know how I would feel if something happened and I could no longer do it anymore. She is having a 50% off sale in her etsy shop and it's very cute items. She will refund you the 50% through paypal after you pay. You can read her blog post by clicking here and click the word "store" in her post to go to her etsy shop. My mom is buying some things for Savannah from her and I am wanting to buy some things as well. I hope you all find some things you like too!

Tackle it Tuesday.. or not.

My plan today was to do a Tackle it Tuesday post hosted by 5 minutes for mom but me and Savannah went and had lunch at the park and played there and then I never got around to "tackling" anything. lol

I do have a few pics I want to share tonight! Does everyone remember the welcome to the world post I made when I first started blogging? It was about Savannah's cat having kittys!! Well guess what?! I have an update on them!! They have grown so much and are starting to walk around and play. They're adorable! We finally chose one for Savannah to keep along with the mommy cat however, I think we may end up keeping more than one because we just love kittys and my parents won't say no to something for Savannah! LOL Anyways, my mom posted new pictures on her facebook and as I was looking at them Savannah was getting all excited!! Wanna know how we picked her kitten?

This was the only kitten that she would "rub" on the computer screen!! I have such a precious little girl!! Here are a few more pictures, they are pretty much the same but you can tell in each picture how excited she is over the kittens picture!

she's smiling in this picture. look at all her finger prints on the screen. lord. lol

Make it Monday!

Ok so I have joined in with all the other bloggers on the daily blog ideas or whatever they are called. I made up my own for Monday and chose to call it "Make it Monday". I will either show you a recipe or how to make something cool. If you make it as well feel free to post pictures for me to see!!

This week I decided to do a recipe that I found on the Bisquick website. It is so yummy! Let's get started!

Easy Barbecue Crispy Chicken Melts

What you will need:
  • 3 tablespoons of butter (I used 2 tablespoons)
  • 1/2 cup Bisquick mix
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • 4 chicken breasts(I used boneless chicken tenders because they are cheaper)
  • 1/4 cup of barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup of shredded cheese

Heat oven to 425, place butter in a 13x9 inch pan, heat 2-3 minutes or until butter is melted.

bye bye butter

In a shallow dish stir bisquick mix and pepper together

pour milk into a seperate bowl

coat chicken with bisquick/pepper mix, coat with milk, then coat again with bisquick/pepper mix. Place in pan.

what it should look like with butter melted and chicken coated

bake uncoverd for 30 minutes (it only took mine 20 minutes) or until juice of chicken is clear when center is cut.

my chicken cooking, looks gross. lol

When the chicken is done, pour barbecue sauce into a small bowl and microwave for 30 seconds. Spoon evenly onto chicken and top with cheese.

looks gross and burnt but it's not. it's soooooooo good!

I fixed mashed potatoes and biscuits with our chicken. I have a picky boyfriend that barely eats anything.

I had a salad with mine as well!

Let me know what you think if you fix this as well!!

Thunder, lightening, and hail, OH MY!

Yesterday started off lovely. I could tell by looking outside that we would have some rain but I never expected it would turn out the way it did last night. I was planning on going to church with my mom but she woke up late(she's still recovering from surgery), so me and Savannah decided to stay at home. We had to get ready and head over to her Aunt Christie's house anyways for her "birthday party". It was pretty sunny out and a little chilly, nothing that a thin coat couldn't fix but within hours the sky turned dark and the rain started to fall. We decided to head on home after only being over at my boyfriends parents house for a couple of hours when we usually stay all day and I have to admit it was a good idea.

I don't remember exactly what time the storms started but I know they didn't end until somewhere in the night. I think they are even calling for some today as well. We had a whole line of storms headed our way, they were stretched out all the way down through North Carolina and some of the states below us. It started out as just rain, some mild thunder, a few lightening strikes here and there and then BAM, tornados started popping up EVERYWHERE. It seemed like all the storms were never ending, they just kept coming, and coming, and coming, and COMING. The line of storms was SO long and I was so scared to go to sleep! (I am terrified of storms mmkay.) The thunder was so loud and the lightening was so bright and the wind was horrible! Every single storm "segment" seemed to have it's on huge tornado. My county luckily didn't have any tornados touch down but there were rotating clouds spotted and we were under a Tornado Warning for about 2 or 3 hours. We had a watch out until 5am. Some counties however were horribly affected. The Tornados destroyed homes, mobile home parks, everything. I don't believe anyone was killed though, praise God, but I do know there were some people injured and this morning there are still thousands of people without power and even some people without homes.

Here are some pictures from the news site. I didn't take any myself because I was way to afraid to even go close to a door. Much less go outside!! Some people uploaded videos to the news website! They have a brave soul!!

This was a mobile home that was affected by a tornado.

Here is a picture of a rotating cloud that was sent in.

On a better note, Savannah finally slept all night last night!! Oh and right now as I blog she is picking up her blocks and putting them back in her bucket! Is this a sign that my child is learning to clean up her own mess?! One can only hope, right?! lol

Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!! I may update again later this evening!

Hello Saturday!

Hello on this beautiful Saturday! It's chilly and a little windy but the sun is bright and it's gorgeous out! How is the weather where you are?

Savannah stayed at Gramma's house last night so I got to sleep in until 11am! WOOHOO!! Haven't done that since I was in high school, that was only about 2 or 3 years ago though. Anyways, as soon as I got up I started cleaning. I hate it. This is why I need to make myself a cleaning schedule. It really makes for a cranky morning when you wake up thinking "I have to start laundry, vacuum, sweep, and dust". I am sure there is a lot more I could do but i'm going to save it for my cleaning list. I want to recognize Alysha over at The Tarr Pit because she is the one that inspired me to make myself a cleaning list! Visit her blog, I love it.

On another note, I don't understand what is going on with Savannah. She doesn't sleep anymore. ): She'll be 10 months on April 4th and still won't sleep through the night. It's so strange. She doesn't really wake up, she cries in her sleep. It's sad. It's not whimpering though, it is full fledge screaming! I don't know if she is having a nightmare or what. It seems to happen around the same time each night and the only way to get her to quiet back down and go to sleep is with a bottle. I know she isn't hungry because she only drinks an ounce and she's back out. It seems to be more for comfort. I have no clue what to do or how to help her, if anyone has any advivce i'd be glad to hear it. At this point i'm willing to try anything!!

For all you mommas of little girls, I listed a few new items last night on my website. I also made a post about them. You can find it here or on this blog. I encourage you to become a fan on facebook and to follow my blog as well. I post all my giveaways on the blog and also have specials just for blog followers!

I keep seeing buttons on everyones blogs, can someone lead me in the right direction to make one of these bad boys?! I have no clue how to do it and I really want one. Thanks in advance!

Well that's it for now. I'm going to get ready so I can go pick up my sweetheart from her Gramma's house!! Have a lovely Saturday!

Boorrrinngggg.

I have not had anything to blog about here recently. I think about it daily but then never get to doing it. I feel like such a slacker!

Since I still don't have really anything at all to blog about I will just talk about some goals I have for the next week or so.

First I really want to start making meal plans for each week with healthier recipes than what we eat now. I want it to help us budget better and get only what we need for our meals that week at the grocery store instead of buying extra because we "might" need it when really we just want it. lol Only problem is I have no clue where to even start. I'd love to hear any ideas that you may have.

Another goal of mine is to start clipping coupons like crazy!! Just goes back to the whole meal plan and saving money thing. I have tons of blogs and websites I follow that allow for me to do this i'm just too lazy to do it. That's right.. I said it.. too lazy.

Does anyone have a cleaning schedule? I have thought about doing this, I think it will help me stick with the cleaning that has to be done. I'm one of those woman that would rather leave clothes in the dryer instead of putting them up. I'll also walk around and pick up the noticeable pieces off of the floor instead of vacuuming. Don't get me wrong, my house is not disgusting by no means, I just half-@$$ everything. lol

I guess I will go stick the chicken in the over now! I promised i'd start it at 4:30 and it's 4:36.

Please share any tips you have for a cleaning schedule or a meal plan!

toodles! (:

My first Tutuorial!

Today I made my very first clip holder! It's for a little girl that goes to my moms church. She is turning 1 at the beginning of April and what a better Birthday present than a clip holder and some new clips?! nothing! (: Anyways, lets get started!

What you will need:
scissors(duh)
hot glue gun
staple gun(optional)
canvas(I used an 8x10 canvas)
fabric of your choice(I bought a foot of fabric and have a lot left over)
ribbon to match your fabric- make sure you heat seal your edges!
picture hangers(they come with the nail)
hammer

To start off lay your fabric out flat with the pretty side face down. Lay your canvas down on top of the fabric with the backside facing you. The solid part of the canvas should be touching the plain side of your fabric.

Next you want to fold your fabric over the edges of your canvas to start the process of wrapping your canvas in fabric. This is where the hot glue/staple gun will come in handy. You can either hot glue it down(my choice) or you can staple it down with a staple gun. Make sure you pull the corners tight, you don't want any wrinkles on the front of your clip holder. Continue this all the way around the canvas gluing down each side. Cut off any extra fabric.

Once you have your fabric attached it's time to measure out your ribbon! I used 3 pieces on mine, decide how far apart you want your ribbons spaced and choose how many to put on your clip holder. To measure your ribbon to the right length you want to lay it flat on the table, lay your canvas on top of it, and wrap the ribbon around to the back of the canvas. You will need atleast an inch on each side of the canvas to attach the ribbon securely. Follow the same step for each piece of ribbon.

After you have your ribbons cut you want to space them out on the table and lay your canvas down flat on top of them. I chose to space mine out by every 1 inch and a half. Make sure your ribbons have an even amount on the sides, put hot glue on the edges sticking out from the canvas sides(should be about 2 inches long) and glue them down to the back. This means that on the front of the canvas they are loose and not attached, they are only glued down on the sides and back of the canvas.

After you get your ribbons on flip the canvas over to the back side and at the top measure an even amount to the center to attach your picture hanger. Mark your spot, hammer in your nails, and you are done!! I chose to add a neat little bow in the top corner on this clip holder, you can add anything your heart desires to yours!

I apologize for not having pics to help with the tutorial. If you have any questions or need any help I will be more than happy to help out! I can send a picture to help explain something if needed also or search google until I find one!!

My finished clip holder for the birthday girl!

If you would like to purchase one of these from me you can do so by visiting my website, facebook, or blog.

Also if you make one yourself please post pics!! I'd love to see them!

9 month old fighter.

Ever ate a kleenex? I haven't. According to my 9 month old they are delicious though. I turn my back for 1 second and I hear the tissue box fall off the coffee table and into the floor. Know what that means? Tissue eating time. Yep, just as I suspected Savannah was eating a Kleenex. I could see it swimming around in her mouth as she chewed on it and I dug and swiped and tried to get it out as she kicks and pushes and swats at me to leave her alone and what happens next?

SHE SWALLOWS IT.

Can't wait for that to come out the other end. *headdesk*

Just call me Susie...

Susie Homemaker that is. ( ;

I have done nothing but clean, clean, and clean, oh and cook, yes and clean ALL day long! It's not exactly how I wanted to spend my Sunday but whatever, It'll do. My lovely sister came over and helped me so it wasn't as bad as it could be... however, I am still doing laundry at 8:34 at night when I usually have my "me" time with no baby wanting all of my attention. lol

On another note, I packed up Savannahs bibs, burp cloths, recieving blankets, and play mat today. *tear* Where did my baby go? I know she is technically still a baby but it's just not the same. She's getting so independent and I know it's not going to be long before she is my age and has a kid of her own. *sigh* Now I know how my mom feels.

My niece told me that today was the first day of Spring. Is that true? She is only 6 years old but I didn't think the first day of Spring was until next week. lol She's the one that goes to school though so who knows!! lol Speaking of Spring, i'm liking this time change so far. I feel a lot better waking up and seeing a 9 on the clock instead of an 8! I know technically i'm not sleeping an extra hour but something about seeing the higher number just makes me feel more rested!! By the way, I woke up this morning to Savannah trying to climb out of the bed. She no longer wakes up and slaps me and says "ba-ba-ba-ba" as she is pulling every single hair on my head. She simply wakes up and gets up and tries to get out of the bed haha!! This must be one of the reasons why they make cribs and suggest that babies sleep in them instead of with their parents... hmm.

As you can tell I really have nothing to blog about tonight so I am going to end it here and go put up another load of laundry. Hope everyone had a lovely day.

Welcome to the world!!

Hello out there!

Welp, looks like i'm going to try this whole blog thing once more! Maybe I can actually stay "devoted" to it this time!!

Introduction:
As you read in my "About Me" section I am Beth and  I have a daughter named Savannah. My title "Doodle and Bug" is me and her. My nickname has always been "Doodle Bug" and I call her "Vannah Bug" so what is better than Doodle and Bug? nothing. (:

Anyways, I run a Tutu business. I also make bows/clips and will possibly start making other things as well if business picks up and goes well. I just started in February so i'm still learning the ropes and learning what the meaning of "patience" is! If you would like to view my work you can visit my website, my fan page on facebook, or my blog.

I have a boyfriend named William. He is Savannah's dad of course. We've been together since 2006, ahh, high school sweethearts, not. LOL Naw he's ok, I think I will keep him for right now. ( ;

As for Savannah goes, she is my world. Right now she is 9 months old and into everything you could possibly think of. She likes to eat band-aids and kleenex and play in her ball pit. She has 6 teeth and the prettiest little smile that lights up her whole face! You will see pictures of her all over this blog eventually!!

Well that is all I feel like posting for now. It's not like I have any followers at the moment anyways so I feel like I am talking to myself.

toodles. (:
